Your book, Career Aspirations and Expeditions has been a remarkable help to me in my current search for a community college presidency. It's my new bible - and has become dog-eared in the 2 short months I've had it. I thought I had this process down pat, having spent 15 years in career services. Yet, I knew that I was missing some key elements in my presentation. My resume and cover letter were getting attention, but not at the level I wanted. I was also out of control, applying to every position on the open market! Your book helped me define my values, discover relevant "stories" and ask the right questions. Instead of dreading the process, I've taken back control of my search by understanding more clearly where I should be focusing my attention and using this process to engage in "conversations." I've become more selective and the result of my self-exploration and understanding is a 25% increase in responses to my inquiries.
