Landscape Plants for Texas and Environs

Michael A. Arnold

Dr. Arnold, professor of horticultural sciences at Texas A&M University, is known by many plant people through his work at A&M and the professional presentations he has made throughout Texas and other parts of the country.

A wonderful addition to the third edition is the inclusion of color photos.

Madeleine McDermott Hamm and Kathy Huber of the Houston Chronicle had the following comments about the earlier second edition:

Texas A&M University professor Michael Arnold's hard-bound second edition is twice as big, and better, than his first all-in-one reference for horticulture students and home gardeners.  It's packed with everything from botanical basics -- such as leaf types and arrangements -- to regional climatic data, soil types, a handy dictionary and descriptions of 127 plant families. The bulk of the big book profiles individual plants and includes descriptions, assets and limitations in the landscape, cultural requirement and growth habits.   There are numerous gardening books available, but when it comes to what's best for Texas gardeners, homegrown is the way to go.
